The Grange Guest House

Nice guest house on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. I stayed here for 4 nights in February 2024 and 5 nights in September 2025. The ladies Vanessa and Tina who run this guest House are very friendly, very accommodating and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. You can end up initially staying as guests and ending up as friends. As this guest house is bed and breakfast there are a number of places that the ladies recommend that you can have dinner in the evening. Rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is usually arranged by the ladies the night before, dietary requirements and breakfast times will be taken into consideration so please let Vanessa or Tina know your dietary requirements at the time. Parking is at the back of the guest house. Vanessa and Tina also try to make your stay as eco-friendly as possible. Free Wi-Fi is also available, tea and coffee are available in all the rooms. My parents love this guest house and have come back here at least four times. Its only a 10-15 minute walk from Mathewsons, if you are here to view the auctions then the main warehouses or only a 5 minute drive away. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in North Yorkshire to explore the coast the North Yorkshire Moors national park the railway and York itself then I would recommend this place wholeheartedly. "Probably the best Guest House in Yorkshire". We didn't just like it… WE LOVED IT!!! EXCELLENT, TOP CLASS EXPERIENCE. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights at The Grange Guest House. We approached the entrance through a gate into a stunning, large, beautifully maintained and private garden. The house itself did not dissapoint. Everything about it is tasteful, gorgeously characterful, sumptuously decorated, cosy and very inviting. Our room was lovely, with a king size bed, fire place, window seat and fabulous en suite with large walk in power shower. The hosts had thought of everything, we had fluffy dressing gowns, toiletries, and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice, and everything locally sourced. 100% worth a visit Outstanding. Vanessa and Tina were perfect hosts (plus Ruby, dog). From the minute we arrived until the day we left. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Such a beautiful, immaculate guest house to stay in with a lovely maintained garden with mature fruit trees which would be a joy in sit in the summer months. 🐣Wonderful Easter weekend 🤩. Wonderful Easter 🐣 weekend. Thank you Vanessa and Tina for all your contributions for making our weekend stay wonderful at your fantastic guest house. First of all your welcoming and friendliness is in abundance as soon as you walk through the door. First impressions are important and the car parking was spot on and the beautiful gardens surrounded us as we walked through the gate. The room we chose was delightful, immaculate, cozy and we were more than happy. Loved the chocolate bunny and love hearts.😀. Settled in and enjoyed a nice cuppa and a slice of lemon cake in the dining area whilst you gave us a mindful of local information and recommendations for eating out for whatever we fancied. We met the lovely Ruby (miniature schnauzer) then too. We chose and ordered our breakfast from the menu. We slept like logs as the room was so quiet and dark and importantly a comfortable bed. Vanessa's Bircher overnight oats were absolutely delicious (I've brought the recipe home) one morning I had the full English breakfast (fantastic quality) and certainly set you up for the day. Following day I chose overnight oats again and the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Delicious. Superb hospitality. We've just had a 3 day break at The Grange and we had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived to leaving this morning, the hosts could not have been more hospitable or helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, bright and comfortable.
